Local, interesting and relevant - Mereside Foot patrols

Good Evening,

Today whilst on Foot patrol of the Mereside area Myself and a colleague came across a vehicle from the local area driving with no Insurance. 

This vehicle was caught up with and then seized under S.165 of the road traffic act for no insurance, and had also received earlier in the year a S.59 warning for ASB driving. 

Paperwork has been given which carries £200 fine and 6 points.

You may have noticed recently that there has been a lot of fly tipping and youth nuisances causing fires. I would just like to mention for transparency that we are looking into this and working with the necessary partners to resolve this. 

For fly tipping on council land you can contact Enveco to make them aware. If you are reporting fly tipping on BCH land please contact them.

I am also looking at funding to restore the Council CCTV on Bowness Avenue and Langdale road, which would greatly assist in preventing and identifying offenders.
